Focus and GoalsAs a politically diverse body, we strive to create and implement nonpartisan and feasible policies at the state and federal level, aiming to gain support from offices and organizations across the political spectrum. We spend time searching for areas of improvement in all sectors of society then seeking tangible and creative solutions, drilling down on the specifics of our proposal.
|
writing policy proposalsWe spend the first semester deciding on policy areas of interest, gathering consensus before moving forward with research. Once decided, we look for specific problems in the field and develop unique potential improvements, crafting a legislative proposal intended to provide a simple fix. Then, we take this work to organizations involved with policy related to our proposal, seeking insight and partners. Finally, we take our proposal to lawmakers, presenting to state and congressional offices.

Annual tripsEvery year, we conduct a trip to Washington, DC and Harrisburg, PA to meet with legislative offices. Both of these trips typically occur in the middle to end of the Spring semester (mid-March to mid-April). Trips usually last one day, though depending on the availability of legislators, could be extended to a couple days.
